The new IPsec VPN clients are compatible with all standard VPN gateways such as Cisco, Juniper, LANCOM, Bintec-Elmeg, SonicWALL, Sophos, Microsoft and AVM (Fritz!Box). Fingerprint authentication has been added to version 4.1 of the Android clients as optional user authentication before the VPN tunnel is set up. If the fingerprint reader is not available or the user's fingerprint cannot be used, the client switches back to standard authentication via password or smart card, depending on the configuration. Fingerprint authentication provides enhanced protection against unauthorized third party access to an unlocked Android smartphone/tablet. NCP does not store biometric data.
The NCP Secure Entry Client for Android can only be obtained via the channel and is ideal for single users up to 50 users. With the NCP Secure Enterprise Android Client, Android devices and smartphones can be integrated into a comprehensive endpoint security concept via central management . This means that user configurations and certificate distribution are managed by the administrator without intervention from the user – an important aspect both from an administrative point of view and in terms of security.
A new version of NCP Exclusive Remote Access Android Client for Juniper SRX Series is now also available. This also now offers fingerprint authentication.
